They say the eyes are the gateway to one’s soul, so it’s a good thing that London makeup brand Eyeko creates products exclusively for your peepers. Sworn by beauty editors such as Eva Chen, I’d been curious about the brand for some time. Needless to say I was sold when hearing of Alexa Chung’s collaboration.
Being too impatient to wait for Australia’s release of the limited edition eyeliner and mascara duo(due to hit our shores at the end of the year), I ordered my package via Eyeko’s web store exactly one month ago from today. It cost $45 USD and arrived quite promptly. The packaging is super cute, complete with endearing illustrations by Chung that compliment her recent book.
I’m impressed by the staying power of the ‘Eye Do liquid eyeliner,’ which has a felt tip like applicator and waterproof formula. After a long day my winged eyes are smudge free. The ‘Eye Do mascara’ on the other hand, is slightly disappointing in terms of volume and length. though it boasts key ingredients including Ginkgo Biloba, Shea Butter, Vitamins, antioxidants and botanical proteins to condition and promote lash growth.
For me, it’s part novelty part treat yo’ self.
