This dress. Where do I begin? It’s just got that je ne sais quoi. The fabric is similar to neoprene with piping following the neckline, arms and mid section. I paired it here with a box bag, simplistic watch and a pair of metallic thread socks for good measure. On days when I am going for more of a laid back look, I tie a plaid shirt around my waist and slip on a trusty pair of chucks.

There are a few classic pieces that we call upon for a timeless look. A crisp white shirt, black pointed heels, a lace dress. This Keepsake pair has been on high rotation for the last couple of weeks and I’ve worn it here with a necklace from my favourite London jewelry brand. It features Perspex blue hands, each detailed with a stack of mini bangles. Inspired by Hindu Goddess Kali, an elegant nod to India as I write this post and watch an India-themed Q&A.

I’ve always thought myself to be an animal print skeptic, admiring the classic fabric on various silk blouses, pencil skirts and statement loafers but only from afar. That was until I saw this beautiful, quilted playsuit that my reluctance was replaced with frivolous excitement. I wore this outfit to Jo Grace’s Kaleidoscope Photography Exhibition. The chiffon funnel neck blouse combined with the crocodile pointed shoes adds a tailored element to my look. On warmed days I’ll be sporting this bewitching number with an oversized white tee with rolled up sleeves and sandals.

I wore this outfit recently to the SA Designer Showcase event as part of The Adelaide Fashion Festival. The dress needn’t any accessorizing with its pineapple detailing and asymmetric pleats. The exotic print itself reminds me of a fruity Rorschach test. I completed the look with minimal makeup, a bold pair of coral heels and a hologram handbag.
All in all it was an enjoyable evening, complete with bounteous cocktails, incredible garments and copious amounts of canapés.
